Grain Storage Bins

The Haskins Company has a number of millwrights that have been with the company up to 40 years. The long history of knowledge and experience has a huge impact on the training and growth of our future millwrights as they are learning the skills and gaining experience in the trade.

The Haskins Company has constructed a number of unit train load out and receiving terminals. These facilities are located in an area stretching from eastern Washington to eastern Montana and south into Wyoming and southern Idaho as well as eastern Oregon. These facilities consist of high capacity legs and conveyors feeding a multi garner bulk weigh system. 110 car unit trains can be loaded in a 10 to 12 hour window.

General Construction

Ground pile systems are a great alternative for bulk storage. A bulk pile can hold from half a million bushels to two million bushels.

Asphalt pads are put down for minimal waste and easier cleanup.

Tarps are used to cover the piles while being while the grain is being stored.

A aeration system is installed under the product to create suction to hold down the tarp system so the wind does not destroy or remove it. Anemometers can be installed to activate the aeration system when the wind reaches a certain speed.

We supply a variety of dust management systems:

  • Dust collection
    • This type of system collects the dust and stores it in a collection bin for resale or disposal.
  • Dust control
    • This type of system collects the dust and introduces it back into the product handling system.
  • Bin top and machinery mounted
    • Bin top units collect the dust and pulse the fines back into the bin.
    • Machinery mounted units collect and pulse the fines back into the unit.
  • Most systems have a bag style media filter that removes the fines out of the air, a timed pulsing system of compressed air removes the fines from the media filters.

We have designed and built grain storage facilities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota. These projects have included everything from single bins for added capacity, to truck stations, 110 car shuttle train facilities and barge loading facilities
